DESCRIPTION:Join us at Wellesley Woodlands and take part in some very special Drawing on Location workshops outside\, hosted by artist and Paint Your ‘Art Out tutor\, Amanda Buchan\, in collaboration with the West End Centre. \nThis workshop is focused on guided drawing in the open air\, giving you the opportunity to work directly from the landscape. Feel inspired to draw from life\, taking inspiration from the surroundings at Wellesley Woodlands. Following a talk from Amanda\, you can then depict the landscape\, choose from such things as the trees and flowers surrounding you. With guided learning we will be focusing on composition\, measurement\, shape and form\, tone\, texture and on depicting distance\, foreground and mid-ground and natural perspective.\nThrough this you will gain confidence in drawing and develop a deeper understanding when tackling a landscape from life. \nWhat you need: Bring a travel chair or similar to sit on and drawing materials such as a set of drawing pencils: F\, H\, HB\, 2B – 6B (if you prefer these could be graphite pencils)\, a box of thin charcoal sticks\, an art pen with a fine nib\, a rubber\, a putty rubber for charcoal\, a sharpener\, a ruler\, cardboard blending stumps and a sketch book of A4 cartridge paper. \nOptional if you wish to paint. \nBring a travel set of watercolour paints and a small watercolour paper pad\, preferably with a semi rough or rough texture rather than smooth. Also\, watercolour brushes\, pencils\, a rubber\, a sharpener\, a palette\, tissues and water jar and water in a bottle. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening stroll through the woodlands and along the Basingstoke Canal to see what wildlife we encounter! \n\n\n\nWe invite you wander the trails of Wellesley Woodlands with us during this 1.5 hour walk along the Basingstoke Canal\, across a small patch of heathland and into the woodland before heading back to the car park. \n\n\n\nAt this time of year there will be birds\, butterflies\, insects and plants galore to discover and identify on our route through these various habitats. \n\n\n\nThis event is for anyone who is interested in listening and looking out for wildlife in the beautiful setting of Wellesley Woodlands. \n\n\n\nPlease come dressed for the weather\, and bring binoculars if you have them for enhanced viewing. Fatima will explain about how acrylics and water/oil based technique behave and different ways to approach the painting.\n \n\n\n\nFatima will start her painting with acrylics and then\, once the composition is starting to work she will move into oils.\n \n\n\n\nWhat you need: No materials will be provided so please bring the items detailed here.
